magical winter birthday party
A magical winter birthday party fit for a little princess…
complete with swans, stars, a moon, flowers and shine!
For a whimsical and magical feel, I filled these vintage swan planters with fresh flowers. All of these beautiful planters were collected over time, creating a unique array, with not one looking alike. I recently decided to pass them along, so you may find some of the exact ones in store at Sisters Garden (for those of you who are here locally)!
The Christmas aisle at Target was key in creating this fun look! For the hanging garland I used star wired ribbon and I hung moon and star ornaments from it. And for filler around the centerpieces I chose an iridescent tinsel garland.
Another Christmas aisle win—the gold glitter table runner is actually just wrapping paper!
I really do think simple cakes are the best cakes…. So I made this one myself! Strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream (our little princess loved it!). And I topped it with—you guessed it—another ornament! This time a crown, which I saw they are still carrying at Target. You can find it here. It also makes a cute addition to a flower arrangement, as you can see below!
All in all this party created a magical scene, making our 2 year old feel like a princess in our home! We will be sad to miss the years to come with her (the sorrows of foster care), but we will forever treasure this birthday with us! The giggles, the smiles, the love that was felt that night—that is what made it so special.
