7 decorating trends for Christmas 2019

1. colorful bottle brush trees

These are popping up everywhere, in every color! You really can’t go wrong. I love the mix of color Project Nursery used! Anything from rainbow to traditional green bottle brush trees are very popular this year. I’ve had some vintage ones I’ve used for the past decade, so I’m super excited they are on trend this year!

2. metal village houses

I love the neutrals, metal, and green mixed together! They are so clean and chic! Everywhere you shop this season, there are galvanized metal houses mixed in with Christmas decor. They even have mini ornament ones at Target! These would be great for a farmhouse style tree. I love how Just Destiny Mag styled this whole room, check it out here.

3. classic Christmas red

Christmas red is back this year. But different than you have probably seen it before, now paired mostly with whites creating a clean, classic look.

4. flocked trees

Flocked trees are the kind that look like they have been snowed on…. they are so beautiful! I seriously contemplated getting one this year! You can also buy flocking spray at most craft stores, and flock your own tree. Heads up though— it is a little messy! See more of this beautiful home with all of it’s gorgeous creamy whites and flocked trees here.

5. rose gold + blush pinks

Feminine hues of rose gold and blush pink are so popular this holiday season! Even better when they are paired with different textures, such as beading, velvet, feathers, satin…etc. etc. Another idea to go along with this is to use woodland creatures, there are so many cute white & blush creature ornaments. From mice wearing sweaters, to nutcrackers that sparkle. Everything goes with these whimsical pinks! I love how Lex designed her space, see more of it here.

6. classic santas

Classic Santa’s are in… I’m not sure how I feel about this trend (I find some santa’s a bit creepy!), but I do think santa mugs are awfully cute! Especially with an added bottle brush tree. Love this look from Target.

7. greenery + neutrals

For that minimalist or farmhouse feel, greenery and neutrals are so on trend. I love how Beauty for Ashes styled their mantle! The layered mirrors are just beautiful! See more of their Christmas decor here.

With each new year come new decorating trends. The best thing you can do if you start to feel lost in them all is just pick one! Pick one, and continue the style and colors throughout your whole house. Too many trends or themes in one space don’t work. So pick your favorite, and go from there! Happy Decorating my friends!
