Simple table settings for Thanksgiving

I love the idea of getting festive for Thanksgiving, yet sticking with neutrals.

Usually in the fall you see lots of color in home decor, which is great, but then you can only use it for that one season. Using neutrals is not only trendy right now, but it also gives you the option to use some of the elements from this table setting during other seasons. I’m already dreaming of incorporating the woven mats pictured below for the summer months! They are kind of my favorite right now.

Simple gray bases you can dress up or down, add color, or layer in other neutrals. If you are more of a cream/ivory person that would work just fine too! These awesome woven place mats I scored at Home Goods this fall. The neutral sprigs I used below are actually just cut grasses from our woods. You could use artificial ones too if you are worried about making a little bit of a mess.

I used jute garden twine to tie up the napkin, to keep with the neutral and rustic fall theme. Another element I love to use are mini pumpkins… I wrote on some with a permanent marker for a fun twist on name/place cards. I used real ones, but you could also buy artificial pumpkins to use for multiple years.

For another look—if the woven mat is not your style—a great option is using a more traditional layering plate. This specific one I found at Hobby Lobby. I love it because it has flecks of gray that help to tie in with the rest of the table settings.

I added a sprig of fresh cut fall leaves for a hint of traditional fall color. And I tied it all together with a mini orange pumpkin for the name card.

For the last look, I mixed and matched the 1st two a bit…

And it may just be my favorite one!

Table settings don’t have to be expensive or elaborate to be beautiful. Creating a beautiful, warm and inviting space is just one of the many ways to make your family and friends feel loved during the holidays! And having family and friends around your table is one of the greatest things to be thankful for.
